Election Commission to Enforce Code of Conduct Ahead of House of Representatives Polls

Kathmandu: The Election Commission has completed final preparations to implement the election code of conduct with the aim of ensuring a fair and transparent election of members of the House of Representatives. The Commission has announced that the code of conduct will come into effect from Magh 30.

Prime Minister Briefed on Election Preparations
The Commission has informed Prime Minister Sushila Karki about the progress achieved so far in preparation for the elections scheduled for Falgun 21. Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari briefed the Prime Minister on Friday regarding overall election preparedness.

Clear Guidelines for Government, Parties and Stakeholders
According to the Commission, the code of conduct clearly outlines the roles and responsibilities of government and non-government bodies, political parties and other stakeholders to ensure a fair electoral process. It specifies permitted and prohibited activities during the election period.

Logistics and Human Resource Management Underway
Commission spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai said that the Prime Minister was informed about key aspects of election preparation, including the printing of election materials and the management of human resources.

Emphasis on Strict Compliance
The Election Commission has stressed that strict compliance with the code of conduct by the government and all stakeholders is essential to maintain the integrity and credibility of the upcoming elections.
